This blog is about two of my greatest loves, cake and running.  Like many of us I love cake but not the podgy belly that comes with it.  So I took up running.  I like to think of each mile I run as a cakemile, earn enough cakemiles and you earn yourself a nice big slice of cake, mmm... yummy.

However even though running is healthy and good for all manner of things including building a nice strong heart (something I am particularly keen on), running on cake is maybe not the best strategy for long term overall health.  Hence in this blog I plan to not only drool over things like frosting covered cupcakes but also try to investigate some healthier cake options and at the same time track my running progress.
